Lakes of Nepal

44 notable lakes of Nepal, organized by province from east to west — Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim — with district and a short note on what makes each one worth knowing.

On this list: Nepal has several hundred named lakes and ponds, most of them small village ponds without reliable province/district records available to this project. This index keeps the ones that are independently verifiable — no Madhesh Province entry is included for that reason, not because Madhesh has no lakes.
